Only a few weeks of 2020 left!! Can’t believe how fast this year has flown by, and all the changes that have occurred in our lives. There has been a lot of negative, but a lot of positive, too! Speaking of change–there will be a few new changes this week at the box. Firstly, if you aren’t actively working out then it is required that you wear a mask. Coaches and staff will be wearing masks during the entirety of the class, but you can take your mask off once class begins. Since our classes were already capped, that’s the only significant changes you can expect this week. The Executive Order expires on 1 February, so hopefully by then we will be able to go back to business as usual. Light at the end of the tunnel, for sure!
I got an email from Ben Bergeron this week, who is the head of CompTrain (the folks who do our class programming). He has offered what he calls “bigger and beefier” versions of daily WODs (although I am pretty sure our WODs have been challenging enough already). Most of the reasoning behind these longer, tougher WODs is to eliminate any extra skill or accessory work that we would normally do before, during, or after class. This is to minimize the amount of equipment that we have to use on a daily basis. I am going to look at this as preparation for the CrossFit Open in February (gotta find that silver lining). So expect these upcoming weeks to be even more challenging!!
